How does the menu work at Terroir?

At Terroir we offer a tasting menu to fully showcase the produce that we have around us from our farms and to create the best experience for you. Our team of chefs, headed up by Jesse Wells, have created a 10 course menu cooked over open fire offering exceptional seasonal and sustainable flavours.

The price is £100 per person for the 10-course menu, starting promptly at 19:00 Wednesday-Saturday.

We also have our  plates menu and Steak for 2 experience from Wednesday through Saturday evenings, including Friday and Saturday at lunch from 12:00 onwards.

Our plates menu changes like the tasting menu...with the farms. Plates are served as and when ready, tapas style. The steak from the Steak for 2 experience starts cooking at seating and allows time for the option of having plates to start.

How does the Steak for 2 work?

We source all of our rare breed white park beef from Hampshire farmers who focus on giving the best life possible to their animals and farming in an ethical and sustainable way. We dry age our meat for between 70-100+ days. That's it.

You get:
> Bread + Meggy Moo's butter
> Rare Breed 70-100+ Day Dry-Aged Sharing Steak
> Hispi Cabbage

£100 per serving (for up to 2 people). Please note; 1 or 2 guests = 1 steak, 3 or 4 guests = 2 steaks, 5 or 6 guests = 3 steaks. You cannot order less than stated (ie: 1 steak for 4 guests). Maximum of 6 guests per group.

Do you take walk-ins?

Absolutely, for our small plate menu. Our tasting menus however are only available to those that book in advance.

Do you cater to dietaries and allergies?

We are more than happy to cater to most dietary requirements.  Please let us know when booking or with at least 12 hours notice before your table. Vegetarian and pescatarian options are also available with at least 12 hours notice.  Just pop a note in the comments section when booking online or let us know over the phone.

Unfortunately we cannot cater for guests with a sulphite allergy due to the style of food we serve.

We also do not offer a Vegan tasting menu option.

Why are you not offering a Vegan tasting menu?

Quite simply, we feel a full vegan experience would not be our forte.

As much as we respect the vegan diet we have decided to focus our tasting menu on showcasing the suppliers we love to promote. Our restaurant is all about the produce around us here in the UK and how we can showcase food in a way that is not only ethical but sustainable. The story we want to tell is that of our farmers and fisherman who are carefully selected because of their ethical approach and part they play in sustainable practices that help the planet.

Some of our tasting dishes may be vegan, but without including animal based products we cannot tell the Terroir story & give the same great experience we want our clientele to enjoy. Our bar snack menu does however have some vegan options.

Do you offer a wine pairing?

We offer a mixed drink pairing with our main 10 course tasting menu for £60pp. All of our wines, beers & fine ciders are from British producers. Our drink pairing will include an array of drink styles & flavours to reflect the menu.

What is your policy on children dining at Terroir?

We do not provide a children’s menu at Terroir.

We only accept children at Lunchtime and they can order from our small plates menu during the day. If you would like any further information please contact bookings@terroirtapas.com.

How long does the tasting menu experience take?

We suggest that diners allow approximately three hours to comfortably enjoy the 10 course experience although during busy periods please note this can be longer.

Please ensure you arrive promptly at your dining time. Please allow at least 2 hours for the 6 course tasting menu.

What is your policy on dogs in the restaurant?

We are unable to admit dogs into the restaurant as we have an open kitchen and we do not have any outdoor seating.

Is there a dress code?

No, we do not have a dress code.

Is there parking nearby?

There is plenty of on road parking plus more on the residential streets surrounding. The nearest carpark is a 5 minute walk away – Woodside Rd, Bournemouth BH5 2AZ. Should you require a taxi we recommend United Taxis on 01202 556677; however, we highly recommend pre-ordering these on weekends.

What is your Deposit/Cancellation Policy?

We take a 50% deposit upon booking.  We will return your deposit if you cancel at least 48 hours before your booking time however we have a £5 cancelation fee per booking.

Please let us know within 48 hours if your guest numbers change.
